A Bit About Me!
I am a storyteller, a writer, and an emerging journalist. My path in Journalism started at J-School at Toronto Metropolitan University. My first gig was working as the Digital Editor of TMU’s Reconciling Journalism Website. This was where I learned the importance of community, trust and transparency as a reporter.
As a mixed Ojibwe woman, and a member of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, I carry the values of my community and the seven grandfather teachings: honesty, truth, respect, bravery, humility, wisdom and love.
In the summer of 2024, I launched my career as a freelance journalist. My written work has appeared in The Narwhal, Canadas History Magazine, The Advocate and the Globe and Mail.
I was also the host for the second season of Lead Podcastings ‘Podcasters of the Rise’ and their Met Radio show ‘Add This To Your Playlist.’ I am experienced in script writing, producing and editing for audio.
In December 2024, I co-produced Episode four, “Let’s Meet at the Pow Wow,’ in season two of the 'We Met U When' Podcast.
Outside of being a journalist, I am also a creative. I enjoy capturing stories through the mediums of photography and design. I have been lucky enough to bring these skills back to my community. In the summer of 2023 and 2024, I worked as the design and communications lead for TMU pow wow. I was also the vice president of marketing for the Indigenous Student Association at TMU throughout 2024 and 2025.
